Real Solutions vs. Resolutions

Have you made your new years resolutions? How many do you believe you will keep? How many are realistic? How many of them are wishful thinking? Resolutions have become such a waste of time for most people. They don't take it seriously because they simply don't get it. So, how can you rightfully resolve something when you honestly haven't gotten the revelation of it.

Now this is the Real Solution: When resolutions pass away, the Word of God will never pass away so this 2010 make it a solemn agreement between you and God that you will allow the Word of God to be your resolve in every area of your life. Let it be the one real solution to every resolution. Because the word of God is life and truth even when resolutions pass away.

The Word works. It is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Thanks,
Kathy Amos

Reflections of 2009

When I reflect back over 2009, I see so many wonderful blessings God has bestowed on us. I was blessed with the birth of two grandsons. And in the first week of January I'll have a 3rd grandson. Now is that awesome or what? I was also able to create full time employment for myself in fulfilling a dream, vision and passion of mine, the Potter's House School for Models & Role Models. Also a wonderful couple from Prattville, AL joined our church and have become faithful in friendship and ministry. WOW! What a blessing to experience and know that God would send such dedicated people from such a long way to serve Him under our covering. He's Way Awesome yall...

With every blessing it seemed like I had that many challenges and obstacles to overcome. My aunt Mary Jo passed away suddenly of a massive heart attack. She was like a mother to me. It was a difficult time for those of us that knew and loved her. My daughter Tameka had a very difficult pregnancy and afterwards she had to undergo gallblader surgery and another similar type surgery to remove the birth control device that was placed after the birth of Joshua. Talking about a season of kious!

This is the LESSON FOR LIFE today, no matter how many blessings God gives you, don't take for granted or overlook them. Use every blessing as an opportunity to smile or even laugh out loud or to say, "Thank You Jesus" one more time. You know, you can never praise and thank Him enough for all He's done for us. And know that when the challenges come our way, the bible declares that we are more than conquerers through Christ Jesus who loves us. So everyday wake up to and seek out His new mercies and at the end of the day empty out the trash. It can create a foul odor after a few days.

What About The Assignment?

This Christian journey is filled with tests and trials. But rarely do we talk about the assignments that God gives each of us. Assignments are not tests or trials. They measure our ability to exercise and retain the Word of God according to the power that works in us.

Assignments come in many forms. They come through people particularly in our sphere of influence but not exclusively. They come through places like our jobs, church or home. They even come through circumstances.

The assignment prepares us for the tests and trials that are sure to come our way. This is why its so important to take every matter into careful consideration. It is not wise to take for granted the things we simply call "LIFE". Our finite understanding alone is not enough for us to lean and rely on. The bible declares that we should trust in the Lord with all heart and lean not to our own understanding. In all our ways we are to acknowledge Him and He will direct our path (Proverbs 3:6).

So today take a look around you and ask yourself these questions:

  1. Is this my assignment?

  2. If so, then ask yourself, "Have I followed the instructions given me according to the Word and power of God that works in me?"

  3. If you have then the peace of God will follow and rest upon you. If not, stay with it until His glory is manifested and His peace comes as a sign of completion.

Embrace the Gift

When you awake in the morning, what do you see? A gift.

When you look at your spouse, what do you see? A gift.

When you look upon your children, what do you see? A gift.

What about mom and dad?

Friends and relatives?

Your pastor, your neighbor, a co-worker, a classmate?

They are all gifts from God. Let's begin to really examine and cherish our gifts. Many of these gifts are irreplaceable. Now is the time to explore all the possibilities of the gifts in your life. And remember the must important gift of all Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Let everyday be a celebration of Christ Jesus and those precious gifts He's given you. Oh! Last thing...start practicing saying "I love you" more and mean it.
